Product Owner (e-commerce)

We’re looking for a Product Owner (e-commerce) to take ownership of our Magento platform and everything connected to it. You’re the link between commerce and technology: you translate what the business wants into what’s technically possible, and you make sure it actually gets built and launched. You manage our technical partners and you’re the go-to person in the organisation for anything involving our platform and systems. This isn’t a role where you pass tickets along, it’s one where you decide where our platform is heading.

Who are we?

Our international organisation is active in nine countries and still growing fast. We’re the online market leader in the Netherlands and Belgium, and we’re also active in Germany, Austria, France, the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Poland. Nine webshops, nine markets, each with its own habits when it comes to UX and customer behaviour. That’s what makes working on our platform genuinely interesting: what works in the Netherlands isn’t automatically the right answer in France.

As part of an international group, we have the stability of a large company with the speed of a small team. Decisions get made around the table, not in a steering committee. You’ll be joining an energetic working environment with a strong international character.

What will you be doing?:

  • Taking ownership of our Magento platform and its connections to external systems;
  • Managing our external technical partners and keeping them sharp on planning,
    quality, priorities and cost;
  • Making the technical translation between the commercial side of the business and IT, in both directions;
  • Coming up with concepts, working them out and actually getting them live;
  • Analysing data (GA4 and customer data, among others) and drawing conclusions
    that lead to action;
  • Optimising conversion, including through A/B testing;
  • Taking ownership of security, technical protocols and GDPR;
  • Enabling automations that make the whole team’s work lighter;
  • Being the point of contact for all Magento-related systems;
  • Acting as superuser for our IT systems, including n8n, Slack and Asana.

The candidate we're looking for:

  • Has at least 5 years‘ experience in a (similar) Product Owner role in e-commerce;
  • Thinks commercially and understands that every technical choice is ultimately a business choice;
  • Is analytically strong;
  • Is creative and takes initiative;
  • Has a clear affinity with e-commerce and IT.
